چکیده

Staphylococcus aureus is a normal bacteria flora in the oral cavity and often causes infections. Saffron (Crocus sativus L.) contains flavonoids that can inhibit growth of aureus. extract formulated into edible film preparations because it control drug release maintain active substances, especially antibacterial ones. This study aims to determine effect comparing PVA xanthan gum concentrations on preparation physical characteristics activity. Also, find out optimal formula. uses Simplex Lattice Design method Expert concentration ratio. The optimization parameters included pH, soluble time, water absorption, activity test using well diffusion method. ANOVA results showed adding accelerated dissolution time increased inhibition. addition pH value absorption. obtained 5.52, 22.25 seconds, absorption capacity 43.95%, inhibition 0.53 cm. formula was received at 5.59% 0.41%. T-test shows equation each parameter valid.

In-Vitro Evaluation of Crocus Sativus L. Petals and Stamens as Natural Antibacterial Agents Against Food-Borne Bacterial Strains

Growing interest to use natural preservatives and spices with antimicrobial effects and large amounts of floral bio-residues (92.6 g per 100 g) generated and wasted in the production of saffron spice guided this study  to evaluate  the opportunity to expand the uses of C. sativus flowers (petals and stamens), beyond the spice (dried stigmas). The antibacterial potential of total extrac...

Antibacterial mechanism of fraxetin against Staphylococcus aureus

Fraxetin is one of the main constituents of the traditional medicinal plant Fraxinus rhynchophylla. The inhibitory effect of fraxetin on various bacterial strains has been extensively reported, however, its mechanism of action on bacterial cells remains to be elucidated. In the present study, the antibacterial mechanism of fraxetin on Staphylococcus aureus was systematically investigated by exa...
